All Atlanta Public School Students must perform 75 hours of community service to graduate.  Seniors, if you haven’t turned in your forms, now is the time.

Senior fees are $125 this year. The fee covers cap and gown, diploma, senior picnic and many other things.  It does not cover the yearbook. Payments should be made to Ms. Ross, cash or money order (payable to Grady High School). You may pay in installments.

The prom will be on Saturday, April 21 at the Fulton County Atrium
Visions of the Future (for seniors and parents) will be Saturday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the gymnasium.
Graduation ceremonies will be Friday, May 25 at 8:30 p.m. at the Civic Center.

Reminders to seniors
Check your credits for graduation.  Do you have all the required courses and credits?  Have you passed all the necessary tests?  Are there any adjustments needed in your schedule to meet graduation requirements or admissions requirements for potential colleges or schools?  See your counselor!

Apply for a social security number if you do not already have one.  Get a state photo ID if you do not have a driver’s license.  Register with the Selective Service if necessary.

Register for the SAT or ACT given in October 2006 or November 2006 if you need to raise your score or did not take the test in May 2006.

Official transcripts and counselors’ recommendations
The counselors send out hundreds of “official” transcripts each fall and winter.  An official transcript is one which is notarized and on official APS letterhead.  It MUST be mailed by the counselors.  Official transcripts cannot be picked up and mailed by students or parents.  Thus, it is necessary to give the counselors 10 days’ notice to send an official transcript

Additionally, many college applications require a counselor recommendation. Grady currently has 271 seniors.  Please plan accordingly.
