Arts Academy

The following is an excerpt from the Academies Profile:

The Arts Academy offers opportunities to deeply explore a wide range of the arts: theater, theater tech, set design, film, visual art, music performance and production, fashion and dance. Students accepted into the academy enjoy three full years of arts electives that integrate classroom instruction with experiences generated by professionals from Atlanta’s rich and diverse arts community. Additionally, professional mentors come to Grady to conduct master classes and one-on-one discussions, projects, and lessons. Courses combine professional and vocational aspects of each discipline and culminate with each student producing a “senior thesis” to be judged by professional artists in that field. Grady High School looks to the arts to create the kind of school environment that fosters learning, engagement, socialization, and student achievement.
